This is a game I was introduced to through the Phoenix Art Museum years and years ago but with magnetic boards. You position several different kinds of shapes (two large triangles, one medium triangle, two small triangles, a trapezoid, and a square) in a designated space to create various recognizable objects from the arrangement. I have hunted for this game for years for my children and was ecstatic when I found it in the iphone app library! It's even cooler now though because the genius' at Little White Bear Studios have created shadowed templates for you to work in (for instance, the shape of a teapot or a bear) and your job is to take the given shapes and arrange them so that they fit perfectly in shadowed area. No shapes can overlap and all gray areas must be covered. You can tap open areas for hints (trust me, you'll need them!) and you can rotate and flip shapes by the touch of your finger. My kids have loved this (when they have been able to pry it from my fingers!) and I am glad they enjoy it because it really trains the mind how to think about space. It keeps you sharp and strengthens spatial recognition. It's a great problem solving app with a fun visual brain teaser thrown in! Trust me, you'll get addicted!
